LegalEASE

FEBRUARY - SEPTEMBER 2023
Charity Work Volunteers

The Challenge

LegalEASE wanted to better support underserved employees facing legal and financial life events but lacked a nuanced understanding of their behavioral and attitudinal barriers to seeking help. Their client, a large national bank, needed this insight to inform a new legal benefits program and toolkit ahead of enrollment season.

Our Approach

The team ran a mixed-methods research program anchored in qualitative depth interviews with 13 underserved employees who had recently experienced multiple life events. These conversations focused on how employees ask for help, work with professionals, and navigate the legal system, then synthesized patterns across participants into actionable insights and recommendations for program design.

What We Delivered Across Three Horizons

Operational Evolution

Designed a unified service experience integrating experts, counselors, and attorneys, guided by a structured, research-backed set of recommendations for how each role supports employees at key life-event moments.

Strategic Transformation Icon_White.webp

Strategic Transformation

Created a scalable program transforming the network of service providers into a strategic asset by defining how experts like counselors and attorneys work together to normalize help-seeking from underserved employees.

The Outcome

The research reshaped how LegalEASE and their client conceive, communicate, and deliver legal support to underserved employees, directly informing the experience and toolkit launched in September 2023. The new framework and recommendations now provide a repeatable model for designing more accessible, trust-building legal benefits across future employer benefits programs.
